The zoo is divided in to several areas. Lets start with the Elephant Clearing, with Asian Elephants. The going through the Aussie Walkabout with emu, wallabys and a kanagaroo all in the same exhibit. Afterwords you can feed the nectar to our colourful rainbow lorikeets. In the Kiwi and Tuatara House, wich is the only public viewing nocturnal house featuring kiwi and tuatara in Auckland. Out side again we have the Hippo River. Hippo River is reminiscent of Africa's marshy wetlands. Here, hippos move steadily across the river-way or wallow deep in mud baths along the riverbank. While at Hippo River, you can see those athletes from Africa, the servals and the Cheetahs. Across the pathway baboons clamber around their tree-covered hilltop, which overlooks Pridelands. Continue along to see our greater flamingos, this is the only flock of flamingos in New Zealand. At the Just Juice Primate Trail start the trail at the Bornean orang utans whose playful antics and gentle nature captures the heart of all Zoo visitors. From the orang utans, follow the signs to the  Ringtailed lemurs. This large extended family group of primates leap from tree-to-tree around their lush tropical enclosure. Enter the lush tranquillity of a South American Rainforest, where monkeys swing just an arm's length away. Arachnophobics beware! Tarantulas live at the entrance of the rainforest, in their own microclimate habitat behind glass. Walk through to see golden lion tamarins climbing through the branches. Peer into the dense vegetation for bonnet macaques foraging for food to store in their cheek pouches. In this area you might also spot in the undergrowth, Juno and Jana, our breeding pair of Asian small-clawed otters. Continue on your journey to hear the loud bellowing call of the siamang gibbons waking to a new day. See the large family group of spider monkeys caring for their young and playfully clambering across their island forest. Paddle Pop Kidzone is a fun and fascinating place for children to explore the ever-changing world of some of the Zoo's smallest residents. Here you can observe eggs in incubators, and see chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, mice, geckos, frogs and more!  This area of course also has a large playgrund. Enjoy a mini safari as you expore the Zoo's Pridelands area – a place where you can immerse yourself in the sights, sounds and smells of Africa. Journey along the Pridelands boardwalk to see our herd of giraffe happily co-existing with zebra and ostrich – and just alongside them, white rhinoceros (the world's third largest land animal) and springbok.Just past the authentic Zulu huts, you'll find the kings of the savannah, the lions – observing you from their look-out, Lion Hill. Sea lion Shores is home to California sea lions, New Zealand fur seals, a sub-Antarctic fur seal and shore birds. And at last look at the beautyfull Sumatran Tiger.
